The Early Childhood Program offers a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree for students who are interested in PK-3 licensure and currently hold a baccalaureate degree.
Early Childhood Licensure (PreK-3), M.A.T.The Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Early Childhood Education is no longer available at JMU. Students who wish to seek initial licensure in Early Childhood Education or who already have a valid teaching license and desire to pursue a Masters degree in education should contact the graduate coordinator of Early Childhood Education or the coordinator of another program of interest. Students may wish to consider a concentration in educational leadership (school administration), educational technology, mathematics education, reading education, or special education.
