Child Abuse Prevention Training

Please follow all of the instructions below to fulfill your

 Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) requirement.

 

PLEASE NOTE: You will need to complete the online CAP training and pass the CAP quiz with a score of 7 points or more.

 

I.  Complete the Child Abuse Prevention Training

II. Maintain a copy of your certificate with your portfolio.

 

III. Follow these steps to take the Child Abuse Prevention Quiz:

 

1. Log on to Blackboard at http://blackboard.jmu.edu

 

2. Login to Blackboard using your JMU User ID and Password.

 

3. Click on the green Organization Tab.

 

4. In the organization search box, type Education Support Center and click 'GO'.

 

5. Click the 'Enroll' button.

 

6. Type in the Access Code capquiz and click 'Submit'.

 

7. Click 'OK'.  (NOTE: As of 9/1/2005- we're having problems with this step.  If nothing happened when you clicked 'OK', log out and then log back in to Blackboard.  You should see the "Education Support Center" listed in the lower right-hand corner.  Click it and proceed with the next step.)

 

8. Click 'CAP Quiz' in the upper left-hand corner.

 

9. Click on 'Child Abuse Prevention Quiz' to begin the quiz.

 

NOTE:  If you need don't receive a score of 7 or more you must re-take the quiz after one week.  Follow steps 1 and 2, then click on 'Education Support Center' under your list of organizations and follow steps 8 and 9.
