Keys to success

During my journey, I found that the keys to successfully completing the NETS*T Certification process included:

Planning and setting benchmarks and then sticking to that project plan.

Carefully examining the rubrics to determine exactly what artifacts were needed

Becoming familiar enough with the rubrics to determine which artifacts could be used for a number of rubrics.

Spending enough time to carefully craft reflections so that they clearly described how the artifact met the criteria for the rubric. And I learned the hard way to be sure to create my reflections in a Word document and then copy and paste them into the online form. That way, when my submission to the Web site was not successful, all of my work was not lost.

I encourage you to make use of your VCOP buddy.

If you are confused by a rubric or think you may have difficulty in providing an artifact, your buddy can help you find solutions or clarify areas of confusion.
