Reflection

I use InteGrade Pro, an electronic gradebook, to record and maintain grades.  I can quickly and easily add tasks, enter grades, and create reports that help me analyze student performance.  Seeing that the class as a whole did not perform well on a particular task lets me evaluate the instructional method, the time spent on the concept.  I will then reteach the concept using other methods, such as a hands-on activity.

Progress Report

Description

.pdf

Reflection

With InteGrade Pro I create progress reports to regularly communicate student performance to the student and their parents.  The progress reports not only provide a view of grades and current status, but also can list any missed work, show the parent how their child’s performance compares to the class average (if desired), and include comments from me.  Progress reports can be emailed to parents if desired.  This increases parental involvement and has shown to be helpful in increasing student achievement.

SOL Test Results

Description

.xls (Excel spreadsheet)

Reflection

I can use Excel spreadsheets to analyze SOL scores using lookup and pivot tables and communicate data such as the pass rates for a science class.  The graph of the scores can then be used to communicate performance to stakeholders.

Computer/Technology Practice Test

Description

Reflection

I developed online practice tests for students for the Computer/Technology SOL as a method of collecting information about student technology skill levels.  Using this information, I targeted specific skills to include in lessons and activities thereby increasing student achievement.
