My name is Kim Hooker and I am the manager for the Blue Ridge West’s VGAs VCOP. I am very excited to be a part of this project that will assist all of us in our new role as instructional technology resource teachers. I am the Instructional Technology Coordinator for Russell County Public Schools. Professionally, the VCOP will be a wealth of knowledge and resources for all of us and I am excited about continuing my professional growth with other professionals as your self. The VCOP is a virtual community where ideas will be exchanged to assist educators in creating a new learning environment for the 21st century. I am also a doctoral student at East Tennessee State University pursuing a degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis with a cognate in Instructional Technology. Personally, I am anxious to get started with the VCOP because my dissertation research will be on the ITRT and how the new role has effected technology integration into the curriculum. I am excited about learning more about the ITRT and how each county is using the position. If I can be of any help to you, please don’t hesitate to ask.
