  There are two main components of the Evaluation Plan for the SVTC Ed Tech grant.  The first of these is the use of the NETS*T standards and rubrics to monitor and assess the competency of teachers to use technology effectively to enhance their teaching and learning.  For more on this component, click on the Quickview link at left.

The second component of the Evaluation Plan is the design and implementation of a methodology to assess the link between effective technology usage and student achievement.  The component of the plan is still under development.  For a good background on the issues to consider in developing this methodology, see the document published in December 2003 by the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Educational Evaluation (NCEE) titled Identifying and Implementing Educational Practices Supported by Rigorous Evidence (PDF, HTML).
