At the secondary level, there are a number of different educational services that might fit a particular child's needs.
These include:

-a remedial approach where students are taught academic skills that they have not previously mastered;

-a tutorial approach where students are given extra help in meeting their classroom demands;

-a functional approach where students are taught skills that they need for vocational preparation and everyday living;

-a strategy instruction approach where students are taught ways to more effectively learn academic content.
